About the HESPC

What is the HEPSC?

The Higher Education Suicide Prevention Coalition (HESPC) is a collaborative organization with the united goal of developing and implementing strategies to reduce suicides on college campuses and improve the overall wellness of students.

Who Are We?

The HESPC was originally designed for campuses across Pennsylvania. However, the footprint has extended to a number of non-Pennsylvania colleges who are also participating in some capacity. Campus representatives involved in HESPC activities include counseling center staff, student health, student affairs, residence life, public safety, athletics, campus ministry, and any other campus leader with an interest in student wellness and suicide prevention.

 What Does the HESPC Do?

The HESPC shares in a number of activities and programs, including:

  • Annual conference
  • Monthly web meetings on relevant campus topics
  • Mini-grants to support start-up ideas and campus programming
  • Message board for faculty & staff to share ideas and ask questions of their colleagues
